Durga rides into the waves of our existence today to remind us that spiritual life is all life. She suggests that we look at and change the places of compromise in our lives to the best of our ability before she transforms into her purest form: Kali. The mercy experienced in this stage of our development is one of "getting honest with ourselves," yet not being utterly removed from those things which no longer serve us. It is still our choice.
